It is interesting to note, the Greek word for key is kleis, In the N.T. it is used in relation to power and authority. It infers the power and authority to open and shut something. Jesus, is the one who now holds all the keys of the kingdom. And at different times during the history of the church these have been made available to the Church.And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven....Matthew 16:19.
Recently, during a time of worship, the Lord pulled back the veil that so often constrains our vision, and allowed me to peak into the spiritual realm. What I saw took my breath away. I was standing, as it seemed, high above a large snow capped mountain range. Much like what you would see in the introductory scenes of the movie, ‘Lord of the Rings.’ This mountain region was vast andbeautiful. I knew that the Lord wanted to convey something of heaven’s timings and purposes in this experience. I turned to the Lord and said, “This is a wonderful majestic place. Please help me to understand. “ It was then that the Lord turned toward me, and in His hands was a very large ornate golden key. It’s size and beauty were beyond anything I have ever seen before. I knew instinctively that the Lord was offering this not only to me, but also to those who were willing to position themselves as overcomers,
within this new season.Prophetic Terminology!
So often during prophetic experiences we are shown events, symbols or settings that must be
understood in the light of what scripture has to say about them. From a prophetic point of view, keys and mountains do have significant meaning attached to them. Keys normally speak of the ability to open up new doors of opportunity, the authority to bind and loose, or making way for a new time or order. But more about that later. Snow capped mountains can speak of good spiritual activity, correct heavenly revelation, kingdoms or permanence!The Implications
And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication.... Zechariah 12:10
Prophetic revelation often is multifaceted in nature. Not only does it contain a personal element, it can, and often does, have a much wider application. This can be seen in Acts 2. Peter understood what happened at Pentecost was the fulfilment of Joel 2. But what he didn’t realise, at the time, was that this promise had a wider application. It was to be extended to the gentile nations. We must understand that God’s methods of disclosing what is ahead can effect all spheres of life on earth.
Are you ready for the new keys that the Holy Spirit intends to make available to you this year? I believe that the Spirit of grace intends to flush our life with the new wine of the Father’s grace. This new wine will open up opportunities for productivity and personal success that has been outside of current paradigms. Spirit of Grace, the Holy Spirit, is extending an invitation to walk and work with Him in this next season.
Keys of the Kingdom
These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens. I know your works. See I have set before you an open door”. Revelation 3:7-8.
He is the only one, as Matthew 16:19 suggests, that has the keys we need to overcome personally and corporately. In life we understand that whoever has the keys has the authority or right to access what is inside. This truth also applies to the spiritual realm. Once we overcome and access the keys of promise from the Lord, we move beyond present constraints, accessing what is on the
other side.
Each breakthrough the Church has experienced since the reformation period, has had a flow on effect for all parts of society; making the way for many breakthroughs in the sciences, medicine and education, to name a few. The church has a mandate to overcome. This is why it is so important that we become people of breakthrough .This opens the way for all people from all walks of life, to step into the blessings that flow from heaven. Even our individual victories, have huge repercussions on the world we live in.
Overcoming the Past
And you shall remember that the LORD your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. Deuteronomy 8:2
For many, 2009 was a ‘mixed bag’. While portions of the year were amazing, there were for some, very difficult times. Times when the heavens appeared to be like brass, and cries for help seemed to fall upon deaf ears! For others, their circumstances, like large ocean waves, crashed over them, leaving them gasping for air. For many it was a year of grappling with recurring sins of the soul, that just would not to go away. While others stood there ground, in faith,
believing for the promise; only to feel like their mountains spoke back to them saying, “We shall not be moved”, releasing a sense of failure and defeat!
In 2009 we were called to wade through much adversity while holding onto the integrity of the Father’s promise. For many 2009 was a year of testing and proving our faith, like Abraham’s was. We were being prepared to carry the promise in the womb of our hope, even while the complete opposite was happening in our circumstances. I believe that the vision of the keys speaks of new opportunities that are on your horizon! Don’t allow the effects of
yesterday’s sorrow or difficulty, determine how you see your future. His mercies are new every morning!
Conclusion
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so
easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus...... Hebrews 12:1-2.
Start 2010 with a clean slate! What hindered you previously is about to be shifted. New opportunities and new ways of seeing kingdom reality will be presented to you. But don’t allow issues from the previous year to place your future into a holding pattern. To be overcomers, we must learn to overcome. For those who carry the heart of an overcomer, great windows of opportunity will be opened in 2010. God is inviting you and me to move into a much higher level of kingdom dimension. This includes demonstrations of His power and authority, because these will be more and more accessible in this new decade.
Don’t delay, take hold of your destiny with both hands and by the grace of God apprehend your breakthrough. Resist the old enemies that try to bring intimidation to your address. God
intends for greatness to come forth in from you in this season. The Father has invested greatness in you. The cloud of witnesses are all cheering you on. Come to the throne of grace and and be
re-envisioned for all that God has for you. This is a new day!
